Those Days

That was the time when I ran around these narrow streets
Full of friends and neighbor rivalries,
We laughed and cried and yet played together,
Where are those days, my friend, will it come back ever?

Remember Mona aunty walking with her high heels on?
Her red lipstick and floral umbrella for all season that go-on
We walked behind her and teased her in slang,
We were the silly fools, engaged in all local pranks.

Oh! That one day when we ragged an old man,
We pulled his walking stick, while trembling he stands,
How we were beaten and taught a lesson,
Forgiving us, he comes everyday to see us play in the sands.

Ruckus everywhere, nuisance kids we were
Not just teachers even parents would beware
Just like this we grew-up like monkeys
Suddenly we are now no-where!!

Where are those beautiful days gone?
Like each day in a year passes by,
Like each moment in a day passes by,
Like each hour in a day passes by,
Those beautiful days have just passed by!!!!!!!!
